Let’s get straight to the point – I received a (love?) poem last night.
“But you make me want to anoint; Your looks overpower a brotha’s* opinion
Overwhelmed by your gorgeous face it’s…overthrown by a hard brotha’s* dominion.
A fool can’t even handle that.”
Honestly, that’s like, maybe half a stanza. When he said he was sending me a poem, I was expecting something a little bit longer and more cohesivet. But I guess if I were to critique it, the length is definitely not where I would start. I didn’t give a very positive response upon receiving this. Ashamed by my rejection, poor guy tried to play it off the next morning like he was drunk. C’mon man, we all know the truth. Sidenote, this poet is Caucasian.
