I went on Tinder this morning to see how many desperate souls were trying to catch last minute dates for Valentine’s Day. I had 40 messages. 40 MESSAGES! Holy cow! I was expecting maybe 15 or 20, but seriously?! I guess I underestimated the desperation of single men in Santa Rosa.
I decided to not accept any of the numerous heartfelt dates I had been asked on, partly because I was overwhelmed by all the messages and couldn’t keep the conversations straight. (I think I can speak for all Tinderellas when I admit that more often that not I have to scroll up to remember the specifics of the conversation I’m having.) I also did not want to accept any dates because in my opinion, Valentine’s Day should be celebrated by established couples, not those on a first date. Talk about pressure!
One of my matches was having some real Vday blues, and my rejection really put him over the edge. I spent a solid 30 minutes convincing him he’s not worthless and that’s it’s perfectly okay to have never had a Valentine. Poor soul just needs some good TLC.
