Last night at the 2015 Academy Awards Tegan And Sarah paired up with the boys of The Lonely Island for a performance of the Oscar Nominated song from The Lego Movie "Everything Is Awesome." 
The performance lived up to the name because literally everything was awesome. It was the most spaztastic performance anyone could have dreamed of. They had everything: a giant possum with a shirt that said: awesome possum on it, cowboys delivering lego oscar statues to members of the crowd (including Oprah who was overjoyed to recieve hers) and even a creepy amazing Batman performing his part of the song.
Do not get me wrong I love me a soulful, heartwrencthing musical performance and I too was in tears for Lady Gaga and then bawling for John Legend and Common but I cannot deny that The Lego Movie performance was my favorite of the night.
What I loved most about it was that everyone enjoyed it so much and it was kind of a big "Hello Academy look how amazing we are, thanks for not nominating us for Best Animanted Film!"
Although they did not win for Best Song (which no one was surprised Selema deserved that one hard core) but they definitely won the crowd over.
