Biebs did an interview at a radio station in L.A. and dropped the news that he was retiring, but his peeps quickly responded saying he was just joking.
But THEN on Christmas Eve he tweeted this:

For Beliebers that’s like getting coal in your stocking! He also had this to say:
The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I’m never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle.

Which obviously has led to even more confusion!
Hollywood Life says that this is all just a publicity stunt since his movie came out yesterday.
